Women of Color Creating Change, Inc. (WOCCC) was founded in 2008 by Latonya A. McGorder. After over 15 years of working in the human service field, Ms. McGorder is well aware of societal issues within the urban communities such as high rates of crime and criminal recidivism. Having worked in a halfway home and after doing her thesis on criminal recidivism, she is no stranger to the obstacles faced by ex-offenders. For this cause she deemed it necessary to help reduce societal ills and reduce the rate of recidivism within her own community. The purpose of WOCCC is to provide services to ex-offenders via mentoring and linkage to community resources for the purpose of improved social functioning.
